MEMBERSHIP

1. There may be the following classes of members

  1. Full Members
  2. Full Lady Members
  3. Lady Members
  4. Honorary Life members
  5. Honorary Lady Life Members
  6. Country Members
  7. Junior Members
  8. Student Members
  9. Working Junior Members
  10. Limited Honorary Membership
  11. Family Membership
  12. Social Members
  • Every application for admission as a member of the Club shall be proposed by one Full Member or Lady Member of the Club and seconded by another Full Member or Lady Member of the Club. Both proposer and the seconder shall know the proposed applicant. The Committee of the Club may, if it thinks fit, require the nomination of the candidate for such membership to be accompanied by an irrevocable application for debentures of the Club to an amount to be determined by the Committee. Every application for membership must be in writing, signed by the applicant and the proposer and seconder and addressed to the Secretary of the Club. Such application shall be on the prescribed nomination form which when received shall be displayed in a conspicuous place in the Club premises for at least two weeks before the election of such applicant and an interval of not less than two weeks shall elapse between nomination and election of the applicant
  • Upon nomination being referred to the Committee, the Committee shall determine whether to approve or reject the nomination. For such nomination to be approved a majority of the Committee present shall have to vote in favour of the nomination for membership.

    2.4 Upon nomination being approved by the Committee, the Secretary shall notify the nominee in writing that he or she has been approved for membership of the Club and request payment for all sums payable under the Rules. The Treasurer upon payment of the said amount shall enter the nominee’s name in the Register of Members kept by him and upon the name being so entered, the nominee becomes a member of the Club.

  • FULL MEMBERS AND FULL LADY MEMBERS

Full Members and Full Lady Members of the Club shall be amateur golfers over the age of 18 years who have been nominated and accepted for membership of the Club and have paid all monies required including entrance fees, annual subscriptions and debentures. Full Members and Full Lady Members shall be eligible to vote at any Annual General Meeting or Special General Meeting.

  • LADY MEMBERS
A Lady Member of the Club shall be an amateur golfer over the age of 18 years who has been nominated and accepted for membership of the Club and has paid all monies required including, entrance fees, annual subscriptions and debentures. A Lady Member of the Club shall not be eligible to vote at any Annual General Meeting or Special General Meeting of the Club.
  • HONORARY LIFE MEMBERS AND HONORARY LADY LIFE MEMBERS

Any Full Member, Full Lady Member or Lady Member of the Club who the Committee by resolution declare to have rendered conspicuous services to the Club and shall have been recommended for Life Membership of the Club shall be elected a Life Member by a majority of two-thirds of the general body of members present at any General Meeting of the Club and any such member of the Club so elected as a life Member thereof, shall thereafter be relieved from payment of any annual subscription. An Honorary Life Member of the Club shall be eligible to vote at any Annual General Meeting or Special General meeting of the Club. There shall not be more than five active Life Members of the Club at any one time and there shall not be more than three active Lady Life Members of the Club at any one time.

  • COUNTRY MEMBERS

A Country Member of the Club shall be an amateur golfer over the age of 18 years, a member of another registered Golf Club who has been nominated and accepted for membership of the Club and has paid all monies required including entrance fees, annual subscriptions and debentures. Country members shall not be eligible to vote at any Annual General Meeting or Special General Meeting of the Club.

  • JUNIOR MEMBERS

A Junior Member of the Club shall be an amateur golfer up to 18 years of age who has been nominated and accepted for membership of the Club and has paid all monies required for annual subscription. Junior Members shall not be eligible to vote at any Annual General Meeting or Special General Meeting of the Club. A Junior Member shall only be eligible to play senior golf at the age of 14 years or on a handicap of 21 or less.

  • STUDENT MEMBERS

If any Junior Member upon attaining the age of 18 years is enrolled as a full time student at any university or institute of tertiary study and is not in receipt of any income, may apply to the Committee to be elected as a Student Member of the Club until the completion of that member’s study. The election of a Student Member rests solely at the discretion of the Committee. A Student member shall not be eligible to vote at any Annual General Meeting or Special General Meeting of the Club.

  • WORKING JUNIOR MEMBERS

A Working Junior Member of the Club shall be an amateur golfer up to 18 years of age who is receiving an income from full time employment and has been nominated and accepted for membership of the Club and has paid all monies required for annual subscription. Working Junior Members shall not be eligible to vote at any Annual General Meeting or Special General Meeting of the Club.

  • LIMITED HONORARY MEMBERS

At the sole discretion of the Committee the Committee may allocate a Limited Honorary Membership to any person who in the opinion of the Committee has been a valued member of the Club for at least 5 consecutive years and due to illness or disability is unable to play competition golf for at least 12 months. Such Membership to be reviewed annually prior to the 1st November each year. Such Member would be eligible to be elected to the Committee and to vote at the Annual General Meeting or Special General Meeting.

  • FAMILY MEMBERS

A Family Membership of the club consist of nominated person, partner, and up to 4 dependent children under the age of 18 years. Family members shall not be eligible to vote at any Annual General Meeting or Special General Meeting of the club. Family members shall not use the course to play on when any competition is in progress nor are they entitled to join any competition unless invited.

  • SUMMER/SOCIAL MEMBERS

A Summer/Social Member of the Club shall be an amateur golfer who has been nominated and accepted for membership of the Club and has paid all monies required for annual subscription. Social/Summer Members shall not be eligible to vote at any Annual General Meeting or Special General Meeting of the Club. A Summer/Social member will have the following restrictions:

a. A Summer/Social member can only compete in competitions approved by the Match Committee.

b. A Summer/Social member only tee off one hour after the lady members i.e. 10.30 AM on Tuesdays.
